Guidelines for Listing in NASDAQ 100 Index

NASDAQ 100 is a stock index in which the performances of 100 hundred companies are measured. NASDAQ 100 was launched in January 1985. It mainly represents the largest non-financial domestic and international securities that are listed on NASDAQ Stock Market. The NASDAQ 100 Index lists the shares of the largest domestic and international non-financial companies comprising of major computer hardware and software, telecommunications, retail or wholesale trade and biotechnology. It does not contain securities of financial companies including investment companies. The companies that are to be listed on the NASDAQ 100 index have to fulfill certain criterion's of the NASDAQ stock market which are absolutely mandatory.
Guidelines for Listing in NASDAQ 100 Index
The following are the various NASDAQ 100 guidelines that the companies must comply with in order to get their shares listed on NASDAQ 100 index:
· The companies listed in NASDAQ 100 must have been publicly traded for not less than two years.
· The companies must not be involved in potential merger transactions.
· The company must be non-financial company.
· The companies must have average trading volume of at least 200,000 shares.
· The companies that are to be listed must not be bankrupt.
